If you sell on an auction site such as Ebay, there are a few things that you should know in order to protect you against auction scams.  Every year thousands of people are scammed out of money and products via Ebay.  Here are some tips on avoiding auction scams.

If you are a seller, make sure you always receive payment before you ship out your items. Some other good ideas is to make sure all your shipments have a tracking number and all expensive products require insurance.  Many people can complain that an item is broken and if you do not state that insurance is required, you can be out the money for the product.  State your return and exchange policy for everyone to see.  This way you cover yourself from people that may take advantage of you.

If you are a buyer and buy a product at an auction site, pay through a pay service such as Paypal.  With Paypal you are guaranteed safety and security.  If you wire someone money or use Western Union, you might lose your money with no recourse.  So if you do business online at auction sites, protect yourself and be aware of ways you can avoid auction scams
