Eye Care in Health

Eye care is extremely important, whether you wear eye glasses, contact lenses or work in an environment that requires eye protection, taking care of your eyes is on of the most important things you can do. Here are some tips.

If you are having trouble with your eyes it is always advisable that you speak to an optometrist.  Many people go for a regular eye check up every two years to determine if their vision is getting worse or better and to be prescribed an accurate prescription for new glasses.  Wearing an old prescription can increase your eyes deterioration.

Wearing contact lenses can be extremely convenient, but does require much more discipline in caring for your eyes.  Make sure you clean your lenses each night and don’t keep your contact lenses in your eyes longer than recommended.  Many people have difficulty removing their contact lenses if they do not take them out within the recommended time allotted.  Disposable lenses are great if you would like to wear a sterile pair of lenses every couple of weeks or even each day.  Make sure you have plenty of sterile contact lens supplies such as rewetting drops in case your eyes become irritated or dirty.

If you work in a factory or at any job where objects are prone to injure eyes, make sure you wear eye protection.  Eye protection can simply be glasses, goggles or a screen.  Remember, you only have one set of eyes so care for them and protect them each and every day.
