If you are planning on traveling, it is important to learn about your destination so you can get around easily and affordably.  Many cities around the world have great transportation networks that help the public get from point A to point B in relatively little time for a great price.  Here are some tips.

If you are traveling in America, unfortunately the only city that has a commendable public transportation system is New York.  You can ride the subway, busses and ferry practically everywhere in the city and most people find the public transportation the best in the nation.

Europe probably sets the best example for public transportation.  Europe was built in a way that favors public transportation.  Most towns are built around a center and many of a cities necessities are close by, where as most places in America are built to be spread out from one another.  Europe has great public transportation in almost every western country.  You can ride many subways, trams, busses and rails around major cities and to travel between each country.  Most of Europe’s public transportation is quick, efficient and very affordable.  For the most part, you can forget about driving, especially on vacation.  If you are planning on traveling, look into the public transportation system of your destination.
