On Page Optimization in SEO

If you are into SEO (search engine optimization) it is important to create web sites that rank high in the search engine rankings.  There are a few search engines that drive the majority of traffic and ranking high in at least one of them is very important, here are some tips on the best ways to rank high in the search engine indexes by using on page optimization.

The three main search engines are Google, Yahoo and MSN.  These search engines can deliver the majority of the traffic to your sites.  There are two important factors to ranking high; on page optimization and off page optimization.

On page optimization takes into consideration the web pages that you create.  You can create successful web pages by making sure your Meta Tags are focused using the right words and you make sure your keyword density for your web page content is consistent with the theme of your web page or web site.  For instance, if your web site is on bicycles make sure your meta tags are relevant.  Your meta tags should be short and to the point usually stating keywords such as bicycles, bike, mountain bike, etc. 

Your keyword density is extremely important as well.  Most SEO’s state that a web page’s keyword density should be between 2 and 5%.  For instance, if your web page is focusing on the keyword “apple tree”, and the total words on a web page equal 1,000 the keyword “apple tree” should show up at least 20 to 50 times.  If you are looking to rank high in the search engine rankings, take a look at the above tips regarding on page optimization.
