If you are planning on flying overseas it is very important to be aware of the constant changes in security protocol.  Due to events in the last few years, flying both domestically and internationally has become more rigorous.  Here are some tips to make your international flights less stressful.

If you are flying internationally make sure you plan ahead.  Most airlines request that you show up at the ticket counter two hours in advance, and for some international flights three hours ahead of your flight is recommended.  Due to the strenuous security checkpoints it can take a couple of hours just to get through the gate and board the plane.

Luggage has become another issue.  Due to recent events flying with carry on luggage has become more difficult.  You are no longer able to bring onboard any liquids.  This includes saline solution, perfume and water.  There are exceptions for certain types of medicines, baby formula and insulin.  However check with the airline before you leave for the airport.

It is also important for you to check the airlines website before you leave to see if there are any special messages, alerts, delays etc.  The more informed, the better able you will be to cope with flying internationally.
