For many people buying a timeshare property can be a stressful and confusing experience.  Let’s face it, most timeshare salesmen want to make the most off your purchase as possible causing you lots of pressure and grief. If you want to avoid the hard sell and confusing jargon, here are some tips.

Make sure you do your homework.  Learn as much as you can about timeshare properties before you ever step into a developers office or take a free vacation to a timeshare resort.  Timeshare properties can be tricky and knowing about the good points and bad points of timeshare ownership will help you make an educated decision.

It is also important that you understand your rights when you buy your timeshare property. Many details must be disclosed to the buyer before you purchase the timeshare property and many states have a 3 day cooling off period where you can back out of the deal without any penalty.

There are many resources available on line as well as in print to make sure you are aware of the pros and cons of the timeshare property business.  You can easily find out which developers have a favorable feedback rating and which do not.  You can also contact the Better Business Bureau to find out which developers or services should be avoided. If you are interested in purchasing a timeshare, make sure you do research to avoid problems when buying a timeshare property.
