Unfortunately everyone today has to worry about hackers that try to gain access to your computer to steal sensitive information such as passwords, personal and financial information.  If you would like to reduce the risk of getting hacked here are some tips.

Be careful where you surf the web.  Many people get hacked because they surf the web on less than reputable sites.  Many adult web sites or sites that promise free software or media files may sometimes include spyware or a Trojan horse that makes it easier for hackers to gain access to your computer or sensitive information.  Use caution when surfing the internet.

Never click on links that are suspicious. Suspicious links can be a possible problem.  Clicking on a suspicious link may take you to a web site where a dangerous program can be downloaded without your knowledge.  Never click on links that are in emails or on websites that are suspicious looking.

Run a virus and spyware check on your computer on a regular basis.  If you use your computer frequently run a virus and spyware check each day or at least weekly.  Many hackers usually gain entry through a back door of a Trojan horse or spyware program.  By making sure your computer is clean, you can reduce the risk that your computer and information has been hacked.
